snow day - the lack of

O.K. usually when people have to cancel school because of snow there's you know... SOME SNOW, but apparently in Alabama you don't need snow to have a snow day!! When there is even a chance of snow these people act like it's the END OF THE WORLD, they stock up on food ( my friend's mom went grocery shopping and there was barley any food there), they turn their water off , they seal their doors, they won't let their kids go outside. It's just ridiculous. I'm kind of mad we got that day off because now we lose our day off in February!!! NOOOOOOO!! I just realized that I have to spend a whole month at school ( with those scary teachers ) without a break. Thank god February is the shortest month of the year.
